Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering

To take the changes at the molecular level and magnify them into processes at the industrial scale -- that is a challenge. Only a few are those who possess the audacity to face this challenge; fewer still are those with the will to succeed. We, the chemical engineers, are they. 

Our learning shapes the world. At our command, what was once whole is fragmented into its most basic components, which are ours to deal with as we please; if we so wish it, materials coalesce into forms suitable for our purposes. Materials are made strong or weak, solid or liquid, tempered to invincibility or reduced to ashes, destroyed or constituted by our will. We take the organic, we produce the synthetic, and we wield them separately or in combination -- in the infinite diversity of the limitless possibilities, we believe that for the service of mankind we can create anything we wish. We are a few in number, that much is true. Still, our knowledge is the lifeblood of industry.

The Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (BSChe) is a five year degree program that equips students with an understanding of both engineering and chemical principles, and develops proficiency in the design, development, operation and management of industrial processes in which materials are transformed by chemical reaction and/or physical means. The BSChe program develops students’ skills in the analysis of chemical processes, the design of effective laboratory experiments to test hypotheses and verify assumptions, as well as to analyze and interpret data and simulate processes. Other components of this program are the processes of evaluation, planning and preparation of specifications and cost estimates, operation and management of industrial plants.
