PIIE - SLUSC is a non-profit, non-political student chapter of the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers. It is recognized by the mother organization, PIIE, for as long as it has been created in 2003 to replace the now defunct Alliance of Louisian Industrial Engineering Students (ALIES, 1995 - 2003) which was also formerly known as the Association of Management and Industrial Engineers of the Philippines (AMEP, 1995).

The organization is governed by a constitution having the last ammendment in 2005. The primary objective of the organization is to establish greater mutual understanding and unity among its members, to initiate activities that will promote the four core values - Creativity, Competence, Christian Spirit and Social Involvement - the University upholds, and other significant objectives identified in the PIIE - SLUSC Constitution and By-Laws.
